Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Policy
Mondeau Bathroom & Kitchen (“Mondeau”) a division of Boone Plumbing and Heating Supply Inc. is committed to ensuring accessibility for all persons with disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
As an organization, we adhere to the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of persons with disabilities. We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
To achieve our commitment, we will:
- Provide ongoing training to employees on accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. We will also provide training on customer service as it relates to interacting with persons with various disabilities.
- Provide customers with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way upon request. We will also provide employees with disabilities with individualized emergency response information when necessary.
- Ensure our communications are accessible to people with disabilities. We will strive to provide information in alternative formats upon request.
- Recruit, hire, and promote qualified persons with disabilities and ensure that we provide appropriate accommodation throughout the employment lifecycle.
- Maintain our facilities to be accessible to persons with disabilities as well as consider accessibility requirements for any new structures being built.
- Monitor any feedback that is provided through our feedback forms to ensure we are adapting to improve accessibility within the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies that support our commitment to accessibility.

Customer Service Policy
Statement of Commitment
Mondeau Bathroom & Kitchen (“Mondeau”) a division of Boone Plumbing and Heating Supply Inc. is committed to ensuring accessibility for all persons with disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
As an organization, we adhere to the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities. We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
Mondeau is committed to giving individuals with disabilities the same opportunity to access our goods and allowing them to benefit from the same services as other clients.
Communication
Mondeau will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.
We will train staff who communicate with customers on how to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities.
Assistive Devices
Individuals with disabilities may use assistive devices as needed to obtain our goods and services.
We will ensure that our staff is trained and familiar with different assistive devices that may be used by our clients with disabilities while accessing our goods and services.
Use of Service Animals and Support Persons
Mondeau will allow customers with disabilities to be accompanied by a support person when accessing our goods and services on our premises. In order to preserve the client’s confidentiality, we will always ask permission to discuss confidential matters in front of the support person.
Mondeau will allow certified service animals on the premises and in all situations where a customer with a disability requires the service animal to access the Company’s goods and services.
Employee Training
Mondeau will provide training to all employees on the following:
- The purpose of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard.
- How to interact and communicate with individuals with various types of disabilities.
- How to interact with individuals with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person.
- What to do if a disabled person is having difficulty in accessing our goods and services.
- Mondeau’s policies, practices and procedures relating to the customer service standard.
Temporary Disruptions
Mondeau will post a notice in a conspicuous place if any services or facilities usually used by clients with disabilities are interrupted. Such notice will advise clients of the expected duration of the interruption and will identify alternative facilities or services if available.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
Statement of Commitment
Mondeau Bathroom & Kitchen (“Mondeau”) a division of Boone Plumbing and Heating Supply Inc. is committed to ensuring accessibility for all persons with disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
As an organization, we adhere to the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities. We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
Objective
The objective of the multi-year accessibility plan is to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for individuals with disabilities in accordance with the AODA standards. This plan outlines the steps that Mondeau will take and has taken to remove those barriers and improve processes for individuals with disabilities.
In accordance with the requirements set out in the regulations, Mondeau will:
- Establish, review and update this plan in consultation with individuals with disabilities;
- Post this plan on its website (www.mondeau.ca);
- Report as required on its website (www.mondeau.ca) on the progress of plan implementation;
- Provide this plan in an accessible format, upon request; and
- Review and update this plan at least once every five years.
Annual Review
Mondeau will conduct an annual review of its AODA related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the relevant AODA regulations and to ensure the ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures implemented as part of the previous multi-year accessibility plan.
Mondeau will:
- Collect data and feedback from stakeholders to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Adjust strategies and procedures as needed to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement
1. Accessible Emergency Information
Mondeau is committed to providing the customers and clients with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way upon request. We will also provide employees with disabilities with individualized emergency response information when necessary.

2. Training
Mondeau will provide training to all staff members on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of all staff members.
Mondeau will take the following steps to ensure employees are provided with the training need to meet Ontario’s accessible laws in 2015:
All employees will receive training on:
- IASR General Requirements
- Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities
Managers and supervisors will receive training on above, as well as:
- Employment Standard
- Information and Communication Standard (including IT staff)
Maintenance employees will also receive training as it relates to our environment on:
- Design of Public Spaces

3. Kiosks
Mondeau has no self-service kiosks.
4. Information and Communications
Mondeau is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.
Mondeau will take the following steps to make all new websites and content on those sites conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A:
- Provide training to its IT and Marketing staff regarding the guidelines and ensure they develop new content in accordance with the Guidelines
Mondeau ensures that existing feedback processes are accessible to people with disabilities upon request by January 1, 2015.
Mondeau will take the following steps to make sure all publicly available information is made accessible upon request by January 1, 2016:
- Identify formats and communication that currently exist and assess if we need additional supports
Mondeau will ensure that all websites and content conform to WCAG 2.0, Level AA by January 1, 2021:
- Provide training to its IT and Marketing staff regarding the guidelines and ensure they develop new content in accordance with the Guidelines and that existing content is assessed and modified as necessary
Required legislative compliance:
- Converting Feedback to Accessible Format: January 1, 2015
- Accessible Formats and Communication Supports: January 1, 2016
- WCAG 2.0 Level A – new Internet websites and web content: January 1, 2014
- WCG 2.0 Level AA (except IASR exclusions) – all Internet websites and web content: January 1, 2021

5. Employment
Mondeau is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. We will take the following steps to notify the public and staff that, when requested, Mondeau will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired, by January 1, 2016:
- Review Human Resources policies and procedures where applicable to include our policy of accommodating people with disabilities during the recruitment process
- Establish procedures for recruitment accommodations
- Providing training to applicable staff, Human Resources, Hiring Managers, regarding providing applicant accommodation
Mondeau will take the following steps to develop and put in place a process for developing individual accommodation plans and return-to-work policies for employees that have been absent due to a disability:
- Develop a process for individual accommodation plans and return to work policies for employees
- Review all policies and procedures and applicable documentation to ensure conformity in accordance with the duty to accommodate provisions under the Ontario Human Rights Code
Mondeau will take the following steps to ensure the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities needs are taken into account when using performance management, career development and redeployment processes:
- Provide training for managers and supervisors on how to use the accommodation plans when managing performance for employees with disabilities
- Advise managers to consult with HR when managing performance for employees with disabilities to ensure it is conducted appropriately
- When providing career development and advancement opportunities, take into account the accessibility needs of its employees with disabilities as well as individualized accommodation plans
Mondeau will take the following steps to prevent and remove other accessibility barriers identified:
- Processes and procedures will be developed taking into consideration best accessibility practices
- Reviews of process and procedures will be performed taking best accessibility practices into consideration

6. Design of Public Spaces
Mondeau will meet the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces by January 1, 2017 when building or making major modifications to public spaces. Public spaces include:
- Outdoor paths of travel, like sidewalks, ramps, stairs, curb ramps,
- Accessible parking
- Service-related elements like service counters, fixed queuing lines and waiting areas
Mondeau will put the following procedures in place to prevent service disruptions to its accessible parts of its public spaces.
- In the event of a service disruption, we will notify the public of the service disruption and alternatives available.
